TRUST.
Most of you are here because of trust.
You don’t trust yourself to consistently make the right decisions for your health.
You’ve spent so long
- following rules about how you should eat, sleep, work and manage stress.
- ignoring your body when it tells you you’re hungry/full/tired/stressed/sad
that you just don’t trust yourself anymore.
My main aim, with everyone I work with is to get your listen to yourselves, respect how you/your body is feeling, and TRUST YOURSELF to act accordingly.
Why bother you may think? Well, there are a few benefits…
- improved body image
- reduction of binge eating/emotional eating
- improvements in anxiety and depression symptoms
- improved psychological wellbeing
- a 2015 study showed that intuitive eaters had a lower BMI than dieters
- improved self esteem from taking responsibility for yourself and acting like a grown-up!
So how do you do it?
Let’s be clear.
THIS IS NOT EASY.
It requires commitment, hard work and practice, but is THE ONLY WAY to resolve your health issues FOR GOOD.
It’s particularly challenging for people with a history of chronic/extreme dieting and self-neglect.
I believe this is why people lose and regain weight & stay on the fucked up fad diet merry-go-round.
Everyone is on board with losing fat – it’s exciting, people notice, you get compliments.
But really examining your behaviours, putting in the hard and unpleasant work so you can truly be in control of your health?
Not so much.
Enough of my soapbox, let’s get on with outlining the principles that you need to follow.
- FUCK DIETS – this means moving your mindset away from the ‘dieting mentality’, detaching our self worth from the number on the scale, and deciding how ‘successful’ a person you are on whether you can follow a set of fucked up diet rules
- RESPECT YOUR HUNGER/TIREDNESS/STRESS etc – stop dismissing what your body is telling you. Learn how hungry/tired you are on a scale of 1-10 and be PROACTIVE about dealing with it. Don’t give the middle finger to your tiredness cos you wanna watch ‘just one more episode’
- MAKE FOOD YOUR FRIEND – you can eat whatever the fuck you like. Believe that. Truly believe it and you’ll remove guilt and deprivation and other fucked up feelings that come with restriction
- FUCK THE PO’LICE– (food police that is) – food isn’t good or bad – it doesn’t have any morality attached to it. And YOU are not good or bad based on what you choose to eat
- GET SOME SATISFACTION – if you’re constantly dieting, and choosing food based ONLY on calories or macros, then you taint your ability to ENJOY your food. Choose based on flavour and satisfaction too.
- MAKE FRIENDS WITH YOUR FEELINGS – don’t avoid your feelings or mask them by using food/alcohol/drugs/sex/shopping – cos those fuckers will come back to bite you in the ass, believe me. EVERY feeling you have is useful to you. Approach it with curiosity. Sit with it – once you understand what the feeling is trying to teach you at the time, it becomes way less scary.
- RESPECT YO’SELF – no trash talk – YOU are always listening – no criticising your body/shape or telling yourself you’re stupid/should be working harder etc. When you respect yourself, you’ll listen to yourself more.
- MOVE YO ASS – move to just enjoy yourself – not to get a PB, not because you think you should, not to track yourself……find a way to move your body that you do just cos you love it – dancing, hiking, bedroom olympics

- STOP & THINK – every decision you make should be mindful. As you’re putting food on your plate, think – ‘when I eat this, will I feel better or worse?’ Always aim for an outcome that moves you forward, not sets you back
- HONOUR YOUR HEALTH – health is about what makes YOU feel good. Food isn’t a weight loss tool – you can eat for enjoyment. Exercise isn’t a punishment or chore – just do shit that makes you feel good.
